KSI’s Exciting New Role
“I’m so excited to start this journey. It’s gonna be a rollercoaster for sure but I hope to bring Dagenham and Redbridge back to the glory days,” said KSI, the popular YouTuber and influencer, following his recent acquisition of a 20 percent minority stake in Dagenham & Redbridge F.C.
Transformative Partnership
KSI’s involvement comes on the heels of a takeover by the Happy Fan Group, which has been focused on revitalizing the club. John Grabowski, a representative of the group, remarked, “Having JJ as a shareholder in Dagenham & Redbridge is transformative for the club.” He added, “This partnership is a clear statement of our intent: to build a truly unique club that is relevant to both its local community and a global audience.”
Current Standing and Aspirations
Dagenham & Redbridge F.C is currently competing in the National League South, having been relegated at the end of the previous season. The club is presently positioned 13th in the league table, with 49 points. KSI aims to elevate the club to the Premier League, stating, “Reaching the Premier League would be a dream. And I believe it is 100% doable.” With over 17 million subscribers on YouTube, KSI’s influence could potentially attract a wider audience and support for the club.
Leadership Changes Ahead
As the club looks forward to this new chapter, Stephen Thompson, the current managing director, is set to step down at the end of March. This leadership transition coincides with KSI’s entry, marking a significant shift in the club’s operational dynamics.
KSI’s enthusiasm and the backing of the Happy Fan Group signal a renewed hope for Dagenham & Redbridge F.C. as they aim to reclaim their status in English football. The coming months will be crucial in determining the impact of this new partnership on the club’s future.
