Newcastle United has officially announced a landmark sponsorship deal with KNOX Hydration, valued at £6 million per year. This three-year agreement, totaling £18 million, will see KNOX’s branding prominently featured on the training kits’ sleeves and the renaming of the Darsley Park training ground to The KNOX.
David Hopkinson, Newcastle’s Chief Executive, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome KNOX Hydration as a world-class partner.” He emphasized that this collaboration goes beyond mere branding, highlighting its potential to support both the team and the community.
KNOX Hydration, a South African sports drinks company, is not affiliated with Newcastle’s majority owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). The deal is set to commence on July 1, 2026, and will extend through 2029, marking a significant step in Newcastle’s ongoing strategy to boost commercial revenue.
The club’s commercial revenue saw a remarkable 44% increase, reaching £120.1 million for the 2024-25 financial year, with an overall turnover of £335.3 million. This partnership is part of a broader effort by Newcastle to enhance its commercial footprint, as they actively seek a front-of-training-wear sponsor.
John Schaefer from KNOX Hydration remarked, “Just as importantly, the club’s dedicated fan base and the strong sense of community that surrounds Newcastle United make this partnership especially meaningful.” He added, “We’re excited to grow together and be part of that journey both on and off the pitch.”
This partnership represents Newcastle’s first-ever training ground and training-kit sleeve sponsorship deal, illustrating the club’s commitment to innovative commercial strategies.
As this partnership unfolds, observers will be keen to see how KNOX Hydration’s products are integrated across all levels of the club and the impact it will have on Newcastle’s community initiatives. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the specific community programs that will be supported through this collaboration.
